One Month

With one month to go before I leave for Ecuador, I've sent my application for my visa to the Ecuadorian Embassy. I got the packet in the mail today that I was waiting for. This packet had a sample of how to fill out the application and several documents that I had to send along with the application. I also had to send my background check, my HIV test, two passport photos, my passport, and a money order. I mailed all of this to the embassy and I should have my visa and passport back in about 2 weeks!

I'm almost done with my reading that I need to do before I leave, but not quite. I just started the 3rd and last book that I have to read.

I guess I need to start actually thinking about what I'm taking and how I'm packing. I ended up buying a set of luggage a few weeks ago, so I can start figuring out how everything will fit in there.

It's coming up fast!

Visa Prep

I've been working on getting things together for my visa this week. I've gotten passport photos taken (I already have a passport, but I still need these for some forms I have to fill out), I've gotten a background check, and I've gotten an HIV test. I still need to get the results of the HIV test along with a letter from my doctor and a money order for the visa. I'm also waiting on a packet that will tell me how to fill out two forms along with some other documents. I'll then send all of this stuff to the Ecuadorian Embassy in DC. If everything goes how it is supposed to, I should get my visa about 2 weeks before I leave on August 21. It's getting close!
